Halloween

October 31st, 2013. (5 years, 4 months old.) by ben

First, there was a parade and a party at school.  I dressed as a fireman.  My 6th grade buddy was dressed as some sort of black wizard.  He said it was hard to see out of his costume.

Then after school, we had a big party.  Ma and Pa were here, and Avery, Ollie, and Uncle John came over, too.  And Jim and Cathy were here, too!

We started our Trick-or-Treating at the Knapps.

After trick-or-treating, we came back to the house to help hand out the candy.  We got chairs right by the door so we would be fast!

Cathy says that she wants to help us practice.

Trick-or-Treat!

I dressed in my knight costume for trick-or-treating.  Avery was a fairy with light-up wings!  Look at all that candy!  Wow!

Andrew was dressed as Tigger.

I had a great time!

Peter Pumpkin Patch

October 14th, 2013. (5 years, 4 months old.) by ben

We went to the Peter Pumpkin Patch last weekend.  We got there early when it was still foggy and cold.

They had a hay maze!  I figured out how to go through the maze forward and backward in no time at all.  Not bad for my first hay maze.

Then Uncle John, Aunt Heather, Avery, and Ollie arrived and it was time to ride to the pumpkin patch and pick the “perfect” pumpkin.

Boy were there a lot of pumpkins to choose from.  I mean, a LOT.  But for a while there, I had it almost all to myself.

After I found the perfect pumpkin, it was time to see some of the other stuff, like the old tractors…

…the newer tractors…

…the baby cows…

… and the old-timey wagon.  Boy was there a lot of stuff to see!

Later we had some ice cream and took some pictures all together.  It was fun showing Andrew the pumpkins.

I’m looking forward to carving my pumpkin for Halloween!

Trip to the Zoo

July 20th, 2013. (5 years, 1 month old.) by ben

Last week we went to the zoo to see all the animals.   And when I say “all”, I mean we made a list of what we wanted to see and we went to see them.  The zoo had everything but hippos.  Oh well, maybe next time!

First, the giraffes!

Then the gorillas.

and flamingos…

Then we went to see the monkeys.

Can you see the monkeys in this picture?

There was a real steam train that you could ride in the zoo.  And we did!

We saw the bears – and this one was good for taking pictures.  Can you spot the bald eagle?

Next up, sea lions.

We also saw lemurs, penguins (not the ice kind), tigers, a rhino, kangaroos, wallabies, wallaroos, emus, ostriches, zebras, wart hogs, polar bears, pelicans, and koala bears.  Wow!

I think we’ll have to go back, though, since Andrew slept through most of it.

Visit from Grandma and Grandpa Harris

June 27th, 2013. (5 months, 2 weeks old.) by andrew

Grandma and Grandpa came to the house for a couple of days so they could hold me and tell me how cute I am.

I just love it when they do that.  They can come back any time!

Grandpa Stark Visits

May 16th, 2013. (4 months old.) by andrew

This is the first time that I’ve gotten to meet Grandpa in person! He’s getting off on the right foot by holding me sharing some fudge with me. Mmmm! Just kidding. I only have Mommy milk!

Grandpa brought a big dog for my big brother. I guess that make sense! He sure looks happy!

Visit up close

January 15th, 2013. (4 years, 7 months old.) by ben

Daddy, Ma, and I went to the hospital today, and Andrew is well enough that he could come over by the window where I could really see him.

He’s really cute! I can’t wait to bring him home!

Baby Brother Is Here!

January 13th, 2013. (4 years, 7 months old.) by ben

Baby brother is here! Boy is he cute!

And small.

I visited Mommy and baby brother in the hospital. I was very excited to see them!

I’m looking forward to when baby brother comes home. And gets a name. Maybe M&D will do that soon!

(Ed. Note: Baby brother was born 1/12/13 at 10:17am, 6lbs, 6oz. 19 1/4 inches.)

(Update: M&D have named my new brother: Andrew Wilson Stark. Yay!)

Visit from Grandpa and Nana

December 20th, 2012. (4 years, 6 months old.) by ben

Grandpa and Nana came up for a Christmas visit.  We had a good time visiting – I got to open my Christmas present early!  Check it out:

A new Bruder dump truck!  It has doors that really open!!  This is going to go great with my trash truck and tow truck.  Thanks, Grandpa and Nana.

We also got to make gingerbread cookies for dessert one night. This is one of my favorite things to do with Nana.

Come back any time, Grandpa and Nana!

Thanksgiving at Ma & Pa’s

December 14th, 2012. (4 years, 6 months old.) by ben

This post is a bit late, but better late than never right?

While we were visiting Ma and Pa’s, I got to visit with my favorite cousin Avery.

We arranged some pretty rocks on the bench out back.  And we got to eat lunch together.

The best part was when Uncle John set us up to make gingerbread houses.  We had gingerbread, frosting, M&M’s, marshmallows, gumdrops,… the works!

And the really best part?  We got to eat them! Mmmmmm!

Seattle

September 22nd, 2012. (4 years, 3 months old.) by ben

M&D took me to Seattle for a visit.  Boy do they have a lot of fun things there!

On the first day, we started out with an airplane ride:

They have a really great airport where you get to walk way out and be near all of the propeller planes.  I could have stayed and watched longer, but M&D said it was time to go.

Next, it was a ride on the light rail (my first real train ride!):

Not only was the ride fun, but there was lots of great stuff to see out the window while we were riding, like these diggers!

After the train ride, Daddy and I went for a big, big ferry ride.  This ferry carried a hundred cars – and even big tractor trailer trucks!

Not only that, but it had three levels with stairs, and it had an inside with seats and tables, and snacks!

That was kinda nice because it was pretty windy “topside”.

After this big day, we stayed with Uncle John and Aunt Carol at their house by the lake where they have a dock where you can throw rocks in the water – which is the best kind.

The next day, we went to the market.  Our adventure started with my first bus ride:

And that was no ordinary bus!  It was a double bus.  Daddy said it was “articulated”.

At the market, these chocolate croissants tasted as good as they looked:

The fish were fun to look at, but we didn’t taste any.

Then it was down the big hill…

…to see the UPS truck:

Just Kidding!  It was the Seattle Aquarium!  There was lots of fun stuff to see here, like this enormous fish tank…

… and sea otters…

… up close and personal!

The next day we went to visit my friend Lauren at her house.

We worked on making a snack together, and also on puzzles and games.

Later, we went for a ride on their dock-boat.  Lauren’s Daddy Big Ben let me drive!

At the end of that day, I guess I was pretty tired.

Our last day in Seattle, my photographer apparently took the day off so I don’t have any pictures of me to share.  But we saw Aunt Jo, Uncle Don, and cousin Sarah for a yummy breakfast.  And we visited with cousins Nicole, Haley and Toby, and we even went to the Lego store where I got a recycling truck set!

What a fun trip!  I hope we get to go back soon!
