First Day of 2nd Grade
August 17th, 2015. (7 years, 2 months old.) by benAndrew was there (of course) to give me a warm send-off!
Once we got to school, I met up with my old pals Patrick and Julia!
OK, Dad. You can go now. Really.
Really?!

Today Mr. Wiz (aka Daddy) came to our class to show us all about Carbon Dioxide. While we were at it, we made some personal handheld clouds. Take that, Google!
We had a “Winter Party” at my class before Christmas break. It was also pajama day.
We decorated gingerbread houses with frosting and candy. I sure wish all my days a school could be like this!
I wore my panda hat for the occasion, of course.
They have lots of fun stuff to play with, and lots of my friends from last year are there, and some new ones, too!
Well, I’m officially a 1st grader now!
It’s back to school time and this year I get my own desk to sit at with its own cubby!
I also get to play on the big playground with 1st, 2nd, and 3rd graders.
I also have two teachers, and not just one. (Ed. Note: They team teach)
It’s going to be a great year!
I went with my class to the beach today and we got to explore and find lots of crabs, snails, anemones, and other sea creatures.
I had a great time and found lots of fun things to look at!
For homework, I had to “sort” and “classify” the laundry. I chose to sort by color. Here you can see my handiwork. Don’t my stacks look pretty?
Mommy helped me by folding it all. (Thanks, Mommy!) I drew a picture to describe how I did my sorting that I turn back in to my teacher.
I wonder if I get extra credit for keeping Andrew away from my piles!
The Penguins went on a field trip to Safari West! It was fun and exciting to see all of the strange animals, like these lemurs.
My favorite was the flamingos. They have a very pretty color.
They had lots of monkeys of all different kinds.
For the second part of the trip, we rode on a bus with no sides out to where the giraffes and rhinos were! There were also addax, bongos, kudu, and a red river hog.
The giraffes were very tall – and friendly. They came right up to visit with us and say hello!
This week I graduated from the Penguin class. We had all the Mommies and Daddies come watch us sing some songs we’d been practicing.
At the end, they called each of our names, and we each got a bag with a “diploma” in it. Then there were snacks outside!
