8th Birthday Party

June 12th, 2016. (8 years old.) by ben

OK, so it’s been official for a while now, but we finally worked in the actual party now that school and baseball are over.  (Ed. Note: Not that you can tell from what he’s wearing…)

M&D did a nice job on the party and I especially liked my tasty and well decorated cake!

No More Crib

December 24th, 2015. (2 years, 11 months old.) by andrew

I got my new bed today, and what’s more, I got to put it together myself – with some help from Daddy of course!

You have to be very careful.  It won’t sleep right if everything isn’t lined up.

Watch me put in the screws and use Daddy’s electric screwdriver!

All this work is making me thirsty!

Finally, it was all done!

I’m all ready to sleep in it!

Happy Birthday to Me!

January 12th, 2015. (2 years old.) by andrew

Today is my birthday – or at least that is what M&D tell me. I’m inclined to believe them since yesterday everyone sang the song and…

I got to eat a piece of yummy cake!

When can I have another birthday, M&D?

First Lost Tooth!

November 26th, 2014. (6 years, 5 months old.) by ben

Well, Daddy said it was time for my tooth to come out since it had to get out of the way of my shark tooth.  So he tied it to the doorknob, and 4 tries later (the string kept slipping off!), it popped right out!

Yay!  My first lost tooth!  And we almost really lost it, too.  It shot out of my mouth, bounced off the doorknob, left the floss behind and disappeared.  Forty-five minutes of searching later, Daddy found it 15 feet away on the bathroom sink!  By then, I’d already written an explanatory note to the tooth fairy.  Good thing I didn’t have to use it!

The next morning, I found a gold dollar coin under my pillow!

Thank you, tooth fairy!

(Ed. Note: While the woven floss held on to the tooth better than the waxed, it has a much larger spring coefficient, which I believe responsible for the extraordinary trajectory of the tooth which caught us all off-guard.  Let this be a word of caution to parents out there.  Oh, and way to go, Ben!)

Kindergarten Completion

June 15th, 2014. (6 years old.) by ben

I finished kindergarten and my teacher, Mrs. Pressler, gave me a nice certificate.

I’m a grader now!

6th Birthday!

June 4th, 2014. (6 years old.) by ben

It was a very exciting weekend last weekend.  I turned 6, and had a party.  My cousin Avery came over and we had a scavenger hunt (and ice cream sundaes)!

And she gave me the baseball batting helmet I always wanted – Awesome!

Also, Grandpa and Nana visited, and Grandpa got to come see me at my T-ball game.  And we read books like the ones I got from Grandpa and Nana.

And I got lots of Legos for my birthday! What could be better!?

Can’t wait ’till I turn 7!

14 Months

March 15th, 2014. (14 months old.) by andrew

For my 14 Month update, Daddy did a video because I’m walking around all the time!

Andrew Walking!

February 20th, 2014. (13 months, 1 week old.) by andrew

Here I go!

It was nice of Daddy to provide the soundtrack for my walking.  I wasn’t thinking about falling down while I was listening to the music!

(Ed. Note, somewhat reminiscent of this video…)

Teeth – Delivered

January 22nd, 2014. (12 months, 1 week old.) by andrew

Those front teeth for Christmas?  Well, they arrived by my birthday!  Check out my new smile!

Chomp Chomp!

One Year Old

January 12th, 2014. (12 months old.) by andrew

Today was my first birthday!  Uncle John, Avery, and Ollie came over to help me to smile for my picture.  It worked!

Then we went to the school playground to play for a while.

Later on, the Knapps came over to celebrate and have birthday muffins with me.  Yummy!  And there was singing while everybody looked at me.  Not sure what that was about…
