Retro Ben – or is it?

August 10th, 2008. (2 months, 1 week old.) by ben

Mommy & Daddy dressed me up in some stylin’ 70’s clothes for this shot:

OK, OK, not really.  This is Daddy when (I’m guessing…) he was even younger than me!  Do we look alike, or what?

(Ed. Note: Thanks to Grandpa Stark for the picture!)

Gratuitous Cute Pictures!

August 4th, 2008. (2 months old.) by ben

I’m nothing if not shamelessly self promoting.  So for this entry, I thought I should just let you gaze upon my cuteness.

While sleeping again:

and while smiling!

The Björn Identity

The Björn is my passport to adventure…

…or at least kisses on the forehead…

Neighborhood Walks

July 27th, 2008. (1 month, 3 weeks, 5 days old.) by ben

Lately, Mommy and Daddy have been taking me for walks in the evening.  We have lots of fun.  M&D get some exercise, while I get to look about at the surroundings…

…or catch some Zzzs.

List of Grievances

July 27th, 2008. (1 month, 3 weeks, 5 days old.) by ben

I’m 8 weeks old today, and I’d like to file a list of grievances.  Things around here just aren’t keeping up, and I want to make this known so somebody can do something about it!

  • I used to be continuously fed, now I only get fed every two or three hours!
  • I used to be kept at the perfect temperature all the time.  Now it gets warm and cool and I have to wear clothes – which get wet and smelly sometimes (for some reason), and then they have to get changed.  What is up with this big step backwards?
  • I get ouchie gas bubbles and have to be burped – that didn’t used to happen.
  • I get smelly in the “southern region” all the time – that didn’t used to happen either.
  • These strange five fingered clubs go on hitting rampages with alarming frequency and pummel me about the face and neck.  Can somebody stop this madness?
  • Ummm… No teeth!  Can somebody please tell me where my teeth are?
  • Same for kneecaps!  How am I supposed to walk with no kneecaps?

I plan to keep complaining until these things get fixed!

Diaper efficiency

July 27th, 2008. (1 month, 3 weeks, 5 days old.) by ben

For quite some time now, I’ve had fun adding more poop to my diaper just as Daddy is changing it in the middle of the night.  Unfortunately, Daddy has gotten too smart for this game (even in his 2am state), and he just waits me out.  He’s always saying something like: “Increasing your diaper efficiency, eh Ben?”.  I’m sure that once I figure out what this means, I’ll be enjoying pooping at inopportune times again.

(Ed. Note: Ben in the act of “increasing diaper efficiency” one recent morning.)

I Love Daddy

July 22nd, 2008. (1 month, 3 weeks old.) by ben

Daddy really wanted to get a picture of me in this outfit for some reason.

(Ed. Note: I admit, it was the cute doggy feet – oh and the ‘I Love Daddy’ on the front…)

Visit from the Gradys

July 20th, 2008. (1 month, 2 weeks, 5 days old.) by ben

More visitors today!  This time Mike and Mary Margaret Grady stopped by to see me (and Mom & Dad).  Of course, I was on my best behavior while they visited – hardly a peep out of me the whole time.  They were very nice and even brought me a nice outfit, book, AND an LMU Lion!  They get the OK in my book and are welcome back anytime!

Introducing “Auntie” Linda!

July 13th, 2008. (1 month, 1 week, 5 days old.) by ben

My amateur parents decided to go celebrate their anniversary at a lunch date, and got someone much more qualified to take care of me – 3 time parent, long time elementary school teacher, and now part time professional day care provider, neighbor “Auntie” Linda.

We had a great time together as she expertly cuddled, fed, burped, and soothed me for a total of about 100 minutes before my anxious parents (needlessly) returned home.  Can you see how comfortable I am?

I hope to see more of Auntie Linda in the future!

(Ed. Note: Well, at least we knew enough to let Linda take care of Ben (she offered!).  We did have a nice lunch, even if we weren’t gone long enough for Linda’s liking.  Many thanks to Linda for watching Ben for us!)
