First Homework!

September 10th, 2013. (5 years, 3 months old.) by ben

For homework, I had to “sort” and “classify” the laundry.  I chose to sort by color.  Here you can see my handiwork.  Don’t my stacks look pretty?

Mommy helped me by folding it all.  (Thanks, Mommy!)   I drew a picture to describe how I did my sorting that I turn back in to my teacher.

I wonder if I get extra credit for keeping Andrew away from my piles!

Trip to the Zoo

July 20th, 2013. (5 years, 1 month old.) by ben

Last week we went to the zoo to see all the animals.   And when I say “all”, I mean we made a list of what we wanted to see and we went to see them.  The zoo had everything but hippos.  Oh well, maybe next time!

First, the giraffes!

Then the gorillas.

and flamingos…

Then we went to see the monkeys.

Can you see the monkeys in this picture?

There was a real steam train that you could ride in the zoo.  And we did!

We saw the bears – and this one was good for taking pictures.  Can you spot the bald eagle?

Next up, sea lions.

We also saw lemurs, penguins (not the ice kind), tigers, a rhino, kangaroos, wallabies, wallaroos, emus, ostriches, zebras, wart hogs, polar bears, pelicans, and koala bears.  Wow!

I think we’ll have to go back, though, since Andrew slept through most of it.

Safari West Field Trip

June 7th, 2013. (5 years old.) by ben

The Penguins went on a field trip to Safari West!  It was fun and exciting to see all of the strange animals, like these lemurs.

My favorite was the flamingos.  They have a very pretty color.

They had lots of monkeys of all different kinds.

For the second part of the trip, we rode on a bus with no sides out to where the giraffes and rhinos were!  There were also addax, bongos, kudu, and a red river hog.

The giraffes were very tall – and friendly.  They came right up to visit with us and say hello!

New Bike!

May 28th, 2013. (4 years, 11 months old.) by ben

M&D got me a new Lightning bike for my birthday!  I got it yesterday, and with lots of practice and some help from Daddy, I’m already riding it.  It’s not even my birthday yet!

This is so fun.  Yay!  I can’t wait to show Grandpa and Nana when they come.

Readin’ the comics

April 15th, 2013. (4 years, 10 months old.) by ben

Lately I’ve been enjoying reading the comics at breakfast along with eating my cereal. Daddy helps me when there’s words.

Homework

January 26th, 2013. (4 years, 7 months old.) by ben

We’ve been getting homework from school for the last couple of weeks. This week, the letters are ‘E’, and ‘F’.

I’m getting the hang of tracing them out. And thanks for the shirt, Ma! I’ve worn it every day since you left.

(Ed. Note: The shirt has been washed at least once…)

Peeling Cuties

January 24th, 2013. (4 years, 7 months old.) by ben

Sometimes the Cuties squirt you in the eye when you peel them. And that stings. So Mommy loaned me her onion goggles for the task.

Works great!

Ice Skating

December 24th, 2012. (4 years, 6 months old.) by ben

Yesterday we went ice skating!

We started out just going for a ride around the ice.  It was fun!

Then it was time to put the chair away and really try this out.  The ice was very slippery, but Daddy was a big help.

A little later, there was a lesson on the basics.  The ice was still very slippery.   And cold.  But I was nice and warm with my truck sweatshirt from Ma, and my ice cream hat that Mommy made.

Once we were all done, we went to the Warm Puppy Café for a hot chocolate.  My friend Sydney was there with us.

We had a great time!

First Purchase

November 5th, 2012. (4 years, 5 months old.) by ben

A while ago I took my money I’d saved up and I bought my first Lego set.

It was hard choosing a set that Daddy said I had enough money for, but when Daddy said he’d lend me an extra $2, the deal was sealed!

Field Trip to Twin Hill Ranch

October 8th, 2012. (4 years, 4 months old.) by ben

The Penguins took a field trip to Twin Hill Ranch.  Farmer Jeff gave us a tour.

He showed us how they clean and sort the apples, and later we got to try our hand at picking some!

We also got to have a snack.   They had yummy apple bread.

I hope we can go back sometime!
