The Penguins took a field trip to a really big park. Jehan and I went on the spaceships together.

Merry-Go-Round race

April 4th, 2013. (4 years, 10 months old.) by ben

Jehan and I went to the park for the Easter egg hunt, and we stopped to go on the Merry-Go-Round first.

In case you were wondering, it was a tie.

(Ed. Note: With constant lead changes…)

First Day as a Penguin

August 28th, 2012. (4 years, 2 months old.) by ben

The new year has started at BCC, and Shannon and I are now Penguins!

We get to be in a new room with lots of new stuff to play with, and we get to go on field trips every month, too!  I can’t wait!

Summer Vacation – More Island

August 4th, 2012. (4 years, 2 months old.) by ben

Well, it was time for another day at the beach.

On this day, Ma and Avery buried my legs in the sand, just like when Curduroy goes to the beach!

Later, Ma and I saw some artists painting pictures of the boats.

Then we had a visit from Natalie, Olivia, and Addison.  They were fun to play with on the beach!

After all that hard playing on the beach, I decided to relax and do some drawing like those artists I saw earlier.

Dinner Hike at Zoey’s

June 10th, 2012. (4 years old.) by ben

I always like going to visit my friend Zoey.  Last time we went on a hike for dinner.

We had a picnic dinner with lots to eat!

On the way back, we needed to stop and rest.  It was a long hike!

Birthday with the (Funky) Little Monkeys

June 6th, 2012. (4 years old.) by ben

My playgroup is called the Little Monkeys. This year, I invited all of my Little Monkey friends to a birthday party at… where else but Funky Monkey! Now I am four years old!

We ate pizza and cupcakes. Mmmmm!

I got to drive a fire truck!

I also learned to play Skee Ball. Making faces helps the ball go into the right hole.

Thanks to my Monkey friends for helping me have a great birthday!

Work Day at School

May 8th, 2012. (3 years, 11 months old.) by ben

The big work party day finally arrived.  I couldn’t wait!

I wore my safety vest and hard hat, and brought my shovel and wheelbarrow.  I was ready!

Today we were going to move the sand out of the far yard playground, and put in some new wood chips!

We started digging!

And barrowing.  Luckily, some friends came to help, so it was fun while we were working!

Check out my dumping technique!

Sometimes you have to stop so your photographer can get that “money shot”.

After we finished moving the sand out, it was time for a break!

Some water and some really yummy cookies really made it all worth it.

And how often do you get to sit on a gigantic pile of sand like this?

After the break was over, it was time to move the chips.  I started by surveying the situation.

Then it was time to get to work filling my wheelbarrow and hauling those ‘chips down to the yard…

Here I go!

And of course, it is good to have help.  We had a lot of work to do!

And here’s the dump!

And here’s the video highlights!

When you’re working hard, it’s hard pay attention to keeping sand out of your shoes.  You can see how hard I was working!

Boy was that a fun day!

Playtime with Jehan

April 29th, 2012. (3 years, 10 months old.) by ben

My best buddy Jehan came over to play the other day.

I think that even if we only had one tricycle to ride, Jehan would have done a good job sharing.

You can come back any time, Jehan!

Visit to the air museum

April 11th, 2012. (3 years, 10 months old.) by ben

It was hot dog day at the air museum, so Mommy took me over, and Daddy even took a “long lunch” so he could come, too.

We looked at lots of airplanes, but the most fun was playing Ex delivery man, and delivering packages from the airplane while Daddy flew the plane.  My friend Elliott helped!

I also got to sit at the controls of this helicopter.  I was a little worried, but the nice man in charge assured me that it would NOT take off.

Easter!

April 8th, 2012. (3 years, 10 months old.) by ben

Easter got started with brunch at school.  I got to sit in the teacher spot!

Then, on Saturday, we went to the park for the big Easter egg hunt.  They had lots of fun things to do, like face painting.  I got a rainbow!

My buddy Jehan and I got a look at the goat, pig, and calf.  We also got to pet some really soft bunnies!

Later, the hunt was about to begin.  We listened carefully to the instructions, like good Otters.

The hunt was on!  Weeeeeee!

After the hunt was over, we talked M&D into a train ride.  Because nothing says Easter like a ride on the train, you know.

Later, it was another hunt for eggs at the Thomassons!

On Easter morning, I did some coloring.  Daddy says he spotted the Easter Bunny and might have got him on film, but I don’t see him in this picture, do you?
