Mixin’ it up with Mommy
May 23rd, 2010. (23 months, 3 weeks old.) by benToday was Sunday pancake & egg day, and M&D didn’t disappoint. Even better, I got to help make some of the pancakes. Mommy gave me my own mixing bowl and ingredients.
Here, you can see my perfectly mixed dry ingredients.
Want to know my secret? It’s all about height off the floor, which this chair helps me achieve. You just can’t get this kind of perfection down on the floor. Ever see a kitchen without counters? Now you know why!
Now for the final mixing touches, for which I was outfitted with an apron. Something about being “messy”. Have you ever heard that word?
Mommy did the cooking. I wasn’t too keen on getting close to the griddle after getting a little too close last time
Alas, my photographer took his break when it was time to eat, so you can’t see how much I enjoyed these yummy pancakes. Yum!
Ben’s learning to make pancakes and eggs! It can’t be too long before dad teaches him all about Chocolate Chip Cookies!! M&D must be careful though, after tasting Chocolate Chip Cookies Ben won’t want to eat his vegetables.
Just a observation from your pictures but it seems as though Ben has learned that the ingredients stay inside the bowl and do not belong on the counter! Good for Ben! I guess he figures that anything that goes on the counter or floor means fewer pancakes for Ben!
In response to Granpa’s comment on Ben’s cleanliness, I would highlight that, as in the movies, there is a staff of people (M&D) who clean things up between shots.
I certainly remember the days when I was getting so much “help” in the kitchen from Jenny! She had to see and do everything, and she really was fun to work with at that age. Of course, it took me twice as long to accomplish a task with all that help!
Oh yeah–and if Ben’s haircut seems crooked, that is mommy’s fault.
