Diapers on Couch #3

April 3rd, 2011. (2 years, 10 months old.) by ben

Some people think diapers are just for wearing.  Well, I’m here to tell you about modern toddler art!

Here is one of my largest installations to date:

I’m hoping to evoke a visceral reaction in my audience with this highly provocative piece, but I understand that reactions to my work are tempered by the viewer’s own life experiences.

(Ed. Note: Yeah, I get  the full range, like: BEN!  I JUST PUT THOSE DIAPERS BACK IN THE DRAWER YESTERDAY!  ARE YOU TRYING TO DRIVE ME CRAZY!  But isn’t that cute?  Get the camera!)

Ben has a nice layout here. It shows his organized mind. Maybe he is just seeing how many diapers there are left before he has to finish his potty training? There is nothing like goal setting when you are almost 3 years old!

Ben does a lot of stacking and unstacking and re-stacking. The diapers have been a favorite item for this activity. Other items that get stacked include Kleenex boxes and folded maps. With all this stacking and sorting, Ben is a very busy guy!

Well, Ben is amazing in so many ways! Who would have come up with such an innovative way to handle the diaper stacking! I think that Ben is gradually making his own way (and making up his own mind) about this diaper vs. potty thing. Ben is working his way through it somehow and will come out the victor at the end. Best of luck, Ben!
