Santa Rosa Rose Parade

May 23rd, 2011. (2 years, 11 months old.) by ben

There was a lot of waiting after we got there before the parade started.

But then, I got to carry a sign!

And I had fun marching with the band…

and after the parade, I got to watch the fire trucks with M&D.

Grandma Harris also came to visit, and walked in the parade with us.

Later, we helped Mommy with the gardening and I got to use my new gloves,

which I really needed after getting a big big big splinter in my finger:

(Editor’s Note: Thanks for Grandma for providing some of this weekend’s pictures!)

Wow Ben, marching in a parade before you turn 3 years old and getting to hold a sign as well. You have had so many adventures for someone who is so young. You seem to be handling the job very well and I can see the crowds were very impressed with your performance! Keep up the good work.

I love the last picture of Jen looking at Ben’s hand. First, it is a beautiful picture of Jen (of course Jen always takes great pictures) but it shows such concern from mother to child. This could be a photo contest winner.

That parade looked just wonderful, Ben! You are a supporting part of the community and you aren’t even three yet! How were you able to march with the band when you don’t play an instrument yet? And where were all the other boys and girls to march with you? Well, I have many questions and may get the answers, but you sure looked cute in your straw hat. You and Mom were dressed alike in that respect. A straw hat is a good choice for marching or watching in the sun!
How is you get that splinter in your finger? Those new gloves are the answer to that problem—I can vouch for that! Ben, I love watching you grow up! Luv yu!
