SunRiver part 1 – Lake Shasta Caverns

June 27th, 2011. (3 years old.) by ben

M&D and I took a trip to Oregon this summer.  It was a long, long drive, but I got to see lots of Ex and PS trucks on the road while we were driving.  I also got to see lots of roadwork up close, including front loaders, dump trucks, excavators, asphalt spreaders, steam rollers, and bulldozers.  For some reason, M&D didn’t take any pictures of those machines, so I can’t show them to you here.

The first real stop on our trip was at Lake Shasta Caverns.  We got to start with a boat ride across the lake, which was the best part of the tour if you ask me!

After the boat ride was a bus ride up the hill.  I directed the bus where to back up and park.

Then we went inside and saw some funny rocks all stuck to the ceiling.  Weird.

After that we stayed in a hotel, and I got to make lots of deliveries with the cart they let me borrow.

The next day was more driving to get to SunRiver.  After going to bed late the night before, I was ready to take a snooze in the car for the last leg of the trip.

Next up: SunRiver!

Another great adventure for Ben. Time to learn new things, like how to occupy yourself on long drives. Thank goodness for all the big trucks and construction equipment to keep your mind busy and make the time go by faster. Then throw in boat rides, bus rides and pushing a luggage cart around and it really tires a guy out. I’m looking forward to seeing the rest of Ben’s adventure to Sun River!

Hey, Ben! We sure had a great time with you and M & D in Sunriver! What great weather so you could swim and take bike rides with Avery. You had a good time playing with your Toby, too, and you did very well at that game where you throw the balls, whatever it’s called! Most of all, you slept on the TOP BUNK the whole time! How fun was that? I can hardly wait to see more pictures of you having fun in that beautiful place. Bye for now, Ma

Oh, I forgot to mention how great the picture is of you and M & D taken on the boat ride to the caverns—wonderful shot! Also, Ma and Pa were SO O O happy that you three waited and had dinner after your boat ride and tour, because we just missed your tour and were a little behind you on our tour. We were so happy to see you three on the grass under the beautiful trees! What a lovely end to a great day! Bye!
