The Naked Chef

August 27th, 2011. (3 years, 2 months old.) by ben

I think I could start my own celebrity cooking show.  I mean, who wouldn’t want to see me making some yummy banana bread while wearing my green Benjamin apron and chef hat?  Daddy and I worked on the pilot episode last weekend.

First, the dry ingredients.  Cinnamon!  Yummy!

Then the bananas… peel and place.

Then the mixer.  Power tools are how I draw in the daddy demographic.  See how I can do this all by myself?  Daddy doesn’t even look worried!

I make sure to taste as I go along so that I know things are just right.  Mmmm….  tastes good!

Now we mix the dry and wet ingredients together.  Careful not to spill!

Here, I go with the spatula for mixing.  The ladies swoon at my display of muscle!

Then my assistant takes care of greasing the pan.  This is how I let people know who is in charge.

Then we just pour in the batter.  What could be easier?

Then it’s just time to clean up and wait until it’s all done.  Ummm… Dad?  We’re dropping this part from the final cut, right?

Tune in next time for… Chocolate Ice Cream! …  Please Daddy?

If you have a cooking show with Ben dressed only in an apron and cooks hat you might have a real winner. Especially amongst the pre-school generation. I guess having Ben dress like that makes clean up much easier!

Wow Ben, you got to use the mixer. What fun!

You sure are a good-looking chef, Ben! Where did you get that chef’s hat? That is a real winner! I usually don’t watch any cooking shows on TV or listen to them on the radio, but I sure would watch if you had your own cooking show. There are actually some great cooks in our extended family, from your Uncles Tom Petrich, John Lynch, and Bob Martin, to your mom and of course, cousin Jacob Scherba, along with anyone on your dad’s side of the family as well. With all that talent in one family, we could have our own cooking show and you could be the highlight of each episode:”Chef Ben makes cooking child’s play!” or “And now, Chef Ben with something for the younger crowd . . . ” Including Ben’s commentary with each episode would be really funny, too.
What is amazing is that Ben is so neat and clean when he is working in the kitchen. I always make a mess and think that’s normal. I have a lot to learn from Chef Ben. Good work, Ben!

Wow!!! Ben is a REALLY versatile guy. Are the young ladies already beating down the door for a date. I love the fact that he’s already learning to cook. that will serve him well when he goes away to school at LMU in 15 years or so. Go Ben!!!!
