Doctor Visit

November 13th, 2011. (3 years, 5 months old.) by ben

I got to go see the doctor for my 3 1/2 year checkup.  This visit was a lot more fun than other visits.  I got to listen to sounds, and raise my hand when I heard them.  Also got to pick out shapes from a paper across the room.  There was an apple, a square, a house, and a circle.  I got them all right, even when the nice nurse told me to cover one eye while I looked!  Yay!

After the fun with listening and looking, the doctor asked me to stand on one foot, jump up and down, and answer lots of questions.  My doctor is really nice, and she even gave me a book when we were all done for being such a good patient!

The worst part was I had to get two shots.  I didn’t cry when I got them, but my legs were sore for several days after that.  Ouch!  M&D got pokes too.  Solidarity, I guess.

Good for Ben. It’s nice to get a good checkup. Not all visits to the doctor are bad. Way to be brave Ben!

After looking at this picture for awhile, I have come up with a real appreciation for who Ben has become. Rather than causing problems by acting up as many children would, Ben is very much part of what is going on. He seems to be very happy trying to help out and follow all the rules. He has a great attitude that his M&D have taught him over the years. He’s turning out to be a wonderful child! Go Ben!

HI Ben! I remember how important a hearing test for a child can be. Your mom was about your age when I realized that she had congestion in her ears and couldn’t hear well. She needed to have tubes put in her ears to allow for drainage because of the congestion that would build up. She was a brave patient, too, and I think that plugged ears are not a problem anymore, judging from the way she hears everything you say and every sound you make! Luv, Ma
