Ma and Pa Visit – Sturgeon’s Mill

September 19th, 2015. (2 years, 8 months old.) by andrew

Ma and Pa came to visit us.  We had a great time visiting.  We saw them at Uncle John’s house, the pool, and they even came to our house to take care of me!

And we went to the saw mill one day.  Here, Ollie and I explore the straddle truck.

And they really do still cut wood when people come to visit the mill.

Those sure are some big saw blades!

Ben & Andrew, it looks like you had fun with Ma & Pa at the sawmill. Just don’t get too close to that big saw blade!

We really enjoyed that visit to the sawmill! It was located in a beautiful part of Sebastipol, surrounded by huge trees that made it very cool and comfortable on a hot day. We adults were absorbed in the history and the stories of the people who owned and operated the mill when it was a working operation. But the kids really liked it, too, watching a nice video about the history and walking around viewing all the saws. We had a great lunch under the trees, saw some HUGE horses (magnificent creatures), watched the blacksmith, and imagined what life would have been like living and working at the mill. It was a really fun day for everyone! Thanks to Jen and Wil for taking us along!
