Visit from Avery

March 25th, 2012. (3 years, 9 months old.) by ben

It’s always fun when Avery comes to visit.

This time we went to the Farmer’s Market, and we saw a band playing some music!

I also got to do story time with Avery (& Mommy) before naps…

…and before bedtime.  As an extra treat, Uncle John read us stories!  And he even let me hold on to my ambulance while we read Emergency!

We also went for a hike together.  Avery didn’t wear a hat, so I wore two.

And nothing makes bath time more fun that a giggly cousin!

Avery, you can come visit any time!

Train Town with Meridith and Cole

January 14th, 2012. (3 years, 7 months old.) by ben

We met Meridith and Cole at Train Town.  First up was a ride on the train!

I was a little scared going into the first tunnel…

…but after that it was smooth sailing (er… riding)

After the train, we went on the Merry-Go-Round…

…and the Ferris Wheel!

Train Town is lots of fun!

Christmas visit with Grandma and Grandpa Harris

January 4th, 2012. (3 years, 7 months old.) by ben

It’s always fun to visit Grandpa and Grandma Harris because I get to play in Grandpa Harris’s old-time truck.  It has a big steering wheel, and you can turn it and see the front wheels turn.

It also has a lift gate in the back for lifting me up and down.  I think I’m getting big enough that Grandpa Harris has to try pretty hard to lift me up!

Then we went on a big adventure!  We got to go golfing, and I got to drive the golf cart!

Check out my driving skills! (Ed Note: Ben! Keep your eyes on the… er…. fairway?)

Oh, and there were even presents to open.  I got this fun parking garage from Grandpa and Grandma.

I had a great time visiting and I can’t wait to come back!  Thanks Grandma and Grandpa!

Monterey Trip

October 23rd, 2011. (3 years, 4 months old.) by ben

Our trip started with a visit to Aunt Barb and Uncle Steve.  We had lunch and dinner with them, and while I was there I got to pick some really big lemons from their tree.  Thanks for the lemons, Barb and Steve!

Then we went to our hotel in Monterey where I got to move all our stuff inside with the cart.  I really like those carts they have at hotels.

The next day, we went for a walk out to breakfast.  I tried to stop Mommy from taking my picture:

For breakfast, I had a Mickey pancake with whipped cream!  Mmmmm….

Then it was off to the aquarium.

This was the first tank I saw.  There were sharks!  And a diver was cleaning the floor with his vacuum.  Just like we do at home!  So, what’s so special about this aquarium, anyhow?

Later, I touched some sea creatures at the touch tank.  Kinda slippery!

Then there’s the tank where the fish swim in circles.   Around and around.  Seems like they would get dizzy.

After the aquarium, we stopped for ice cream.  I got to finish off the sundae we shared.  Mmmmmm…

My favorite animals at the aquarium were the otters, but somehow my photographer didn’t take any pictures of them, so I can’t show them to you.  Maybe next time.

Busted Sprinkler

October 22nd, 2011. (3 years, 4 months old.) by ben

Daddy had the job of actually fixing the sprinkler, and he showed me how to do it.

Sometimes dirt falls in the pipe when you get the broken sprinkler out, and the pipe has to be flushed.  I got to be chief pipe flushing monitor…

… er… taster

… er… when does the water stop coming out? … Clear!  Clear!  The pipe is clear!

Of course, there’s nothing like testing the sprinklers after fixing one for an excuse get outside and get wet!

Oh, and we needed to deliver some emergency water to the dry parts of the lawn!

Too bad the weather is getting colder now.  I’ll have to wait until next summer before it is hot enough to play in the sprinklers!

Dinner at Zoey’s

October 8th, 2011. (3 years, 4 months old.) by ben

We went to Zoey’s house for dinner and a swim.  Daddy took me in the pool at Zoey’s neighbor’s house (Ed. Note: thanks Ray and Barbara!).  I really like jumping in from the side when Daddy is there to catch me.

We also went in the small warm pool for a while when the big pool got cold.

After swimming we helped M&D and Zoey’s Mommy do some harvesting and I found a really nice stick to poke the ground with.

I sure like Zoey!

Thanks Zoey (and Zoey’s Mommy and Daddy) for having us over!

2011 Family Pictures

October 6th, 2011. (3 years, 4 months old.) by ben

Well, it was that time of year again to meet with our favorite photographer, Jeneanne.  We had fun going out to the lake and taking some pictures.  And I got to ride on Daddy’s shoulders!

Sneak Preview Images!

It’s always fun taking pictures with Jeneanne. She brought her friends and made me laugh!

Here’s more pictures from our sneak preview.

Tiago’s Birthday

October 1st, 2011. (3 years, 4 months old.) by ben

Tiago turned three a couple weeks ago, and he had a big birthday party at Party Central!

Daddy and I went down the big slide together like “professionals”.  Boy is that fun!  Although I’m not sure who is having more fun in this picture…

They also had lots of other things to climb on like this ball pit.

The even have a gigantic blow-up chair for the guest of honor.  (And I got to sit in it, too…)

When can I go back, M&D?

The Naked Chef

August 27th, 2011. (3 years, 2 months old.) by ben

I think I could start my own celebrity cooking show.  I mean, who wouldn’t want to see me making some yummy banana bread while wearing my green Benjamin apron and chef hat?  Daddy and I worked on the pilot episode last weekend.

First, the dry ingredients.  Cinnamon!  Yummy!

Then the bananas… peel and place.

Then the mixer.  Power tools are how I draw in the daddy demographic.  See how I can do this all by myself?  Daddy doesn’t even look worried!

I make sure to taste as I go along so that I know things are just right.  Mmmm….  tastes good!

Now we mix the dry and wet ingredients together.  Careful not to spill!

Here, I go with the spatula for mixing.  The ladies swoon at my display of muscle!

Then my assistant takes care of greasing the pan.  This is how I let people know who is in charge.

Then we just pour in the batter.  What could be easier?

Then it’s just time to clean up and wait until it’s all done.  Ummm… Dad?  We’re dropping this part from the final cut, right?

Tune in next time for… Chocolate Ice Cream! …  Please Daddy?

First Dentist Visit

August 19th, 2011. (3 years, 2 months old.) by ben

Today was my first visit to the dentist!  I brought cuddle blankie, birdy, and cheetah with me to make sure everything would be OK.  First we hung out in the waiting room where there were lots of friends (stuffed animals) and a big fish tank.

Then Dr. Hodges called me in to the back where they have the special chairs.  He also has a special light, special mirror, and special tooth counter that he was showing me here.

Dr. Hodges was very nice.  He looked in my mouth, counted all my teeth, and said everything was OK.  Yay!
