Puddle Jumping

January 24th, 2010. (19 months, 3 weeks old.) by ben

During the recent rains, I got to go outside and put my rain coat and galoshes to the test!

Daddy was saying something about it being hard to find puddles “living on a hill”, but I don’t know what he was talking about.  I found plenty of water to splash around in!

I ♥ Biking!

January 21st, 2010. (19 months, 2 weeks old.) by ben

M&D got me a a bike trailer for Christmas.  Now I can go along with Daddy on his bike rides, and also help him get more exercise.

This baby has pneumatic tires for a smooth ride, and a completely enclose-able riding compartment for optimum passenger comfort.

Along with my new trailer I also got a bike hat.  M&D say that I always have to wear this when I go riding with Daddy.

I look forward to many fun hours cruising with Daddy – past those unlucky kids in those slow strollers!

Worst…Day…Ever…

January 12th, 2010. (19 months, 1 week old.) by ben

Today I got to learn all about coughing up dinner–something M&D called “vomiting”.  Unfortunately, this happened to be a first-person experience, and not a third-person experience.

img40d_02838

I really wished that M&D could make it stop, but I guess they couldn’t.  I really hope this never happens again!

Making Orange Juice

January 10th, 2010. (19 months, 1 week old.) by ben

The other day, Mommy and me made some orange juice.  Turns out that orange juice comes from oranges!  Who’d have thought?

At first, I had to concentrate (ha ha) very hard to get the juice out.

img40d_02726

But after a little practice, I was doing just fine with my eyes closed!  No problem!

img40d_02727

Now if Daddy will just show me how to work the waffle iron, I’ll be all set!

Visit from Grandpa and Nanna

November 25th, 2009. (17 months, 3 weeks old.) by ben

Grandpa and Nanna came up for a pre-Thanksgiving visit.

And Wow!  Look what they brought for me!  My very own Lightning McQueen Trike!  It has lights and makes noises and everything!

img_2774

Here, Grandpa is explaining the finer points to me, like did you know that there is a 1kg weight limit to the rear bin space?  That’s ’cause this baby is built for speed!  (Once I can reach the pedals, I’ll report on just how much speed it was built for.)

img_2777

In between rides on the new trike, I got in some quality reading time with Nanna.  I made sure to let her know how many words I already know.

img40d_02508

Grandpa got some reading time in, too.

We also took a trip to the park to see the ducks.  What we actually saw were some really, really large geese.  It turns out we have something in common.  We both like bread!

img_2879

We also squeezed in a visit to the park where I got to go down the curvy slide…

… and climb back up again all by myself!

All in all, we had a great visit.  I’m looking forward to seeing Grandpa and Nanna again at Christmas time!

Shopping with Mommy

November 22nd, 2009. (17 months, 3 weeks old.) by ben

Recently, Mommy & I got to spend some quality time together.  I got to learn about catalogs and shopping.img40d_02252

All I need to do now is a find out what a “credit card number” is, and then I can pick up the phone and order some of these toys!

Happy Halloween! Grrrrr….

November 1st, 2009. (17 months old.) by ben

Here I am getting ready to head out for Halloween in my tiger costume!

img40d_02466

I was having a good time until M&D took me across the street to the Knapp’s.  Uncle Rick had a scary (and noisy) ghost by his door that made me cry.  But I got some candy!  I guess at the Knapp’s house, you get a trick AND a treat.  Next year I’ll know what to expect!

Picnic Bubbles

September 1st, 2009. (15 months old.) by ben

Recently at the SR Mother’s club picnic, I got to try my hand at the bubble tub.

img40d_02000

Here you can see me demonstrating a technique called “two fisting”, for optimal bubble production.

One thing I learned at the picnic: Not to get bubble soap in your eyes!  Ouch!

Starting Day Care

August 18th, 2009. (14 months, 2 weeks old.) by ben

M&D took me to where I’ll be starting what they call ‘Day Care’.  It looks to me like a place with friendly people, other kids, and LOTS OF TOYS!  Yay!  In addition to seeing LOTS OF TOYS, I got to meet some of the friendly people and see where I’ll be spending a couple days a week.

Here I am on one of the fun climbing toys.  They say that they can make this one even taller for advanced climbers like me!

Bustin’ Dust

August 13th, 2009. (14 months, 1 week old.) by ben

This morning I upgraded from my usual dust mop to the power tool of dust-mopping: the Dust Buster!

img40d_01918

I find that the determined look helps me eliminate fur balls and stray kitty litter that much more effectively.

Grrrrrr…..  Busted!
