Making Banana Bread

September 28th, 2014. (20 months, 2 weeks old.) by andrew

Daddy and I made some banana bread together, and I got to run the mixer!

There’s this button on the top that turns it ON and OFF.  And you don’t just have to turn it on and then off once – you can do it lots of times.  Over and over again.  Wait… what were we making again?

Oh yeah, banana bread.  So after you mix it… you mix it again with the spatula, and it’s all gooey.

The only thing that would make this more fun is if Daddy didn’t make me keep it all in the bowl.  Oh well.

When we were all done, the bread was really good.  I guess Daddy was right to not spill any so we would have more bread!

First Soccer Game

September 7th, 2014. (6 years, 3 months old.) by ben

I played my first soccer game yesterday!  My team is the Revolution and I’m playing full-back.

When you play full-back you get to throw the ball in after it goes out.

And my biggest fan came to see me!  He was happy to have some halftime snacks, too.

Quail Addition

September 1st, 2014. (19 months, 2 weeks old.) by andrew

Well, I guess M&D can add me to their quail collection.

Which is I guess why I had to get my first haircut.

BEFORE:

AFTER:

I guess M&D got tired of hearing me complain about my hair getting pulled in the bib latch.

Tying my shoes

August 23rd, 2014. (6 years, 2 months old.) by ben

Now that soccer has started and since my cleats have laces, Mommy said I have to learn to tie my shoes.  The good news is that she said she would teach me.  She said it would take 100 times before it got easier, and the first 20 would be the hardest.

So we counted them.

Well, I made it to 100 and it DOES get easier. Yay!

First day as a Panda

August 20th, 2014. (19 months, 1 week old.) by andrew

I wore my panda hat for the occasion, of course.

They have lots of fun stuff to play with, and lots of my friends from last year are there, and some new ones, too!

First Day of 1st Grade

August 19th, 2014. (6 years, 2 months old.) by ben

Well, I’m officially a 1st grader now!

It’s back to school time and this year I get my own desk to sit at with its own cubby!

I also get to play on the big playground with 1st, 2nd, and 3rd graders.

I also have two teachers, and not just one. (Ed. Note: They team teach)

It’s going to be a great year!

Making Freezer Jam

August 16th, 2014. (6 years, 2 months old.) by ben

Mommy and I made some strawberry freezer jam the other day.  It takes lots of strawberries!

And did you know that if you try to lick the bottom of the bowl it can get on your face?

Well, it can.  Mmmmm…!

Airplane! Truck! Grandma! Grandpa!

August 13th, 2014. (19 months old.) by andrew

I went on my first airplane trip!

It was fun seeing all the airplane stuff, and playing with the tray in front of me, but the flight was waaaaay too long.

At least after we got off the airplane I got to see Grandma and Grandpa.  Grandma read me a story before bedtime.

And going for a walk with Grandpa was fun.

And Grandpa has a very cool green truck.  It reminds me of my Little Blue Truck book.  We got to go for lots of rides!

Peek-a-boo!

And I got to help move the gate up and down!…

…and play golf in the back!

On the airplane ride home I was just too tired to stay awake.

What a fun trip!

Wedding Trip and LegoLand!

August 13th, 2014. (6 years, 2 months old.) by ben

We went down to cousin Christine’s wedding.  Our rental car had a trunk big enough to use as a PJs changing room!

Before the wedding, we went to LegoLand where we saw lots of Legos and went on roller coasters and saw a 3D show about Clutch Powers!  They have lots of Star Wars Legos there now!

I got to be in the wedding.  I was the ring bearer.  This meant I got to go practice, which included sitting in the dugout with the groom guys.  (Ed Note: Looks more like the penalty box!)

Of course, cousin Avery was in the wedding, too.  She was a flower girl.  Doesn’t she look nice?

I had a great time at the party after the wedding.  Dancing to the music and getting chocolate from the fountain was really fun!  I can’t wait until my next wedding!  Does anybody need a ring-bearer?

Kitchen Training

August 4th, 2014. (18 months, 3 weeks old.) by andrew

If you bug Mommy while she’s working the kitchen, well, let’s just say that she puts you to work.  Otherwise known as: M&D have started my knife skills training.

Talk about throwing me in the deep end!  Next time, can we start with something like cooked carrots and not Brussels sprouts!  And maybe a spoon!
