First Lego Creation

November 20th, 2011. (3 years, 5 months old.) by ben

Here’s my first Lego project that I made without any help from Mommy or Daddy. It’s a school bus!

It has wheels to roll on, and a steering wheel to drive it. And it is mostly yellow, and has seats for people to sit in!

(Ed Note: Hopefully, this is the first of many yet to come…)

Doctor Visit

November 13th, 2011. (3 years, 5 months old.) by ben

I got to go see the doctor for my 3 1/2 year checkup.  This visit was a lot more fun than other visits.  I got to listen to sounds, and raise my hand when I heard them.  Also got to pick out shapes from a paper across the room.  There was an apple, a square, a house, and a circle.  I got them all right, even when the nice nurse told me to cover one eye while I looked!  Yay!

After the fun with listening and looking, the doctor asked me to stand on one foot, jump up and down, and answer lots of questions.  My doctor is really nice, and she even gave me a book when we were all done for being such a good patient!

The worst part was I had to get two shots.  I didn’t cry when I got them, but my legs were sore for several days after that.  Ouch!  M&D got pokes too.  Solidarity, I guess.

Atlas and Me

November 10th, 2011. (3 years, 5 months old.) by ben

Atlas and I have been getting along much better lately.  M&D remind me to use quiet voices and gentle hands with Atlas, and mostly it seem to work.

Sometimes he still tries to get away, though, and I have to chase him.  He thinks going under the table is safe, but that only works with M&D.  Ha!

It’s all in good fun, though.

Atlas is a good kitty.

Bling

November 7th, 2011. (3 years, 5 months old.) by ben

I have my own sense of style when I’m getting around town.  I like the window down, with sunglasses and cheese.  Yeah.

Going for a special walk

November 5th, 2011. (3 years, 5 months old.) by ben

Today, I’m going for a special walk with Mommy. We are walking to support our friend Taylor who has Neurofibromatosis. Taylor is also walking today—although he is down in San Diego walking in the official Children’s Tumor Foundation walk. We couldn’t go to San Diego this weekend, but we wanted Taylor to know we were thinking of him.

Go Team Taylor!

Halloween

November 5th, 2011. (3 years, 5 months old.) by ben

This year, I was really looking forward to Halloween.

We started the day before by making our Jack O’Lantern.   I drew the face, Daddy did the carving, and Mommy scooped out the pumpkin guts!

And I helped transport the guts to the greens bin.

On the big day, I got the candy ready to hand out by sorting out the best kinds.

After handing out candy for a bit, I put on my fireman costume, and went out with Mommy.

When I got back, I got to have some of the candy I’d gotten!  Kit-Kats and Milk Duds.  Mmmmmmm!

After that, it was back to handing out candy for the rest of the time until we ran out.  M&D said we had 236 trick-or-treaters come to our door!  I’m only 3, and even I know that is a lot!  When we ran out of candy, Daddy asked me if I wanted to give away the candy I’d gotten to the trick-or-treaters that were still coming.  I said, ‘No’.

Mail Delivery

November 4th, 2011. (3 years, 5 months old.) by ben

One of my favorite games to play at the park is mail delivery.  I like to wear my blue mailman clothes, and deliver mail and packages.

Daddy made my name on my mail truck so everyone would know it was me!

Experimental Bed

October 27th, 2011. (3 years, 4 months old.) by ben

Sometimes I like to experiment.

I know the picture makes the big empty bed look really comfortable, but I liked the laundry basket just fine.

Recycling at the Farmer’s Market

October 26th, 2011. (3 years, 4 months old.) by ben

They have recycle bins at the Farmer’s Market.  Sometimes they have to be inspected and moved around.  You know.  Just because.

Good thing I brought my work gloves.  I’m just the guy for the job!

(Ed. Note: Now, if we could just figure out who to send the bill to…)

Professionals…

October 25th, 2011. (3 years, 4 months old.) by ben

When Taylor and I go down the slides together, we’re doing it like the professionals!  That’s what I like to say, anyway.
